The brief

Nicklas Skovgaard staged SS27 near the end of the Copenhagen Fashion Week schedule, outdoors on the open lot in front of Terminal 2 in Nordhavn. Vintage American cars drove onto the lot, models stepped out in groups and formed up around a band playing live. Two things were happening at once, and the film had to hold both.

What we did

We built the coverage around the split screen the show was designed for. Cameras were rigged inside the cars so the drive-in was shot from within, with nothing mounted on the outside where it would break the look. Two cameras tracked the length of the runway, one sat high for the formations and the traffic between cars and podium, and two stayed on the band so the performance could be cut against the collection. The live set was recorded multitrack and mastered separately, so the music in the film is the music from the day.

The result

A show film that runs as a live concert and a runway at the same time, finished with title cards and the band's set list.
