Focus Nordic wanted to show off four Laowa lenses. Rather than one generic demo, we gave each lens its own short film, all shot on the very glass they show off, so you see the optics in real use throughout.
Four very different lenses, each with its own strengths. One demo would have done none of them justice. Each needed its own story.
We built a distinct piece for each. The Ranger got a hip-hop vibe: a photographer spots a spray painter, asks to film them, and we see the lens in action, no dialogue, cutting between the camera's footage and the camera itself. The Wide follows a photographer into nature for inspiration, high-paced, opening on an ID Buzz and landing on the beach. The Macro starts POV in a flower shop; a picked flower pulls us into an otherworldly macro universe, close enough to see every detail, with sound design to match. The Anamorphic is a classic interview with a cinematographer about using it in production, shot on the anamorphic itself. Each film carries running text about the lens's specs.
Four films that each stand on their own, and together show what the whole Laowa range can do, all shot through the lenses themselves.
